Respect

Hello everyone!
I've decided to write about respect today, because it is easy enough to get heated about something with someone and blurt out something that you know would hurt their feelings, or even something silly enough like saying you don't like a girl's shoes to her face. That girl probably picked out those shoes because she liked them, who are you to criticise her fashion sense?
In my opinion respect means accepting someone. If they wear something you don't like, that's fine, but does it matter?

I think rather than asking yourself  you like what they buy and wear, you should be asking yourself if you like them as a person.
I personally don't know anybody that would laugh at a kid with down syndrome for ''having a funny looking face''
You are who you are,no one is going to be EXACTLY like you and we have to respect that and stop being so judgemental all the time.

I have a little problem with my hips, basically they're uneven and I limp a bit if it starts hurting. It often does and I do notice people staring at me when I'm out and about and the pain kicks in because they can see I'm not walking ''normally''. They stare at me (It isn't nice but I've gotten used to it) and whisper to each other for a while then carry on with their lives.

Anyway, a while ago I was walking home with two big bags of shopping, it's a short trip from my house to the supermarket. But I was in pain walking there with my shopping bags and obviously  I was struggling a bit.
I was walking home in pain, there were two men in front of me walking with fishing equipment, I said excuse me and walked past them.
They were Spanish and they must have thought I don't speak Spanish ( I was born in Spain and have never lived anywhere else in my life) because I heard one say to the other,''Look at the way she walks, she looks like a retard.'' I turned around and looked at them at that point to let them know I understood them and carried on walking home.

My point is, regardless of whether people have struggles of their own, we're all equal and discrimination has no exceptions.
